Understanding Tunica County Releases
A Tunica County release means the Detention Center stopped holding a person under that booking. It does not always mean the person went home. Bond, recognizance, time served, dismissal, or sentence expiration can lead back to the community. A transfer to the Mississippi Department of Corrections, another jail, ICE, or the U.S. Marshals ends Tunica County custody while confinement continues elsewhere. Hospital movement, a court writ, escape, and death are also custody events that should not be described as ordinary community releases.
The official Tunica County Sheriff's Office card supplies a release time, but it does not state the release reason or destination. That gap matters. A bond figure displayed beside a booking does not prove that the person posted bond. Can a person be released and still be confined? Yes. “Released by Tunica County” can mean transferred. Ask for the disposition and destination before treating the timestamp as proof of return to the community.

Research did not verify a durable public MDOC “Released” or “Discharged” label with an actual date for all past inmates. A no-result is not proof of final discharge. Use the separate Parolees Search, Tunica Community Corrections, MDOC Records, Board documents, and the court file when the public inmate detail ends.
Tunica County 48-Hour Releases
Tunica County publishes an exact 48 Hour Release product, not separate official 24-hour and 72-hour feeds.
